Pregnancy yoga is a wonderful way to help prepare your body and mind for labour, birth and motherhood. Classes aim to keep you fit and healthy, buidling strength and improving flexibility which in turn can aid a healthy pregnancy and increase the chances of a natural, active birth and faster recovery. Whatever your birth plan there are so many marvellous benefits in practising pregnancy yoga.
The class is suitable for any Mum-to-be who wants to keep active during her pregnancy and spend time connecting with her baby in a calm, relaxed environment. Its also a lovely way in which to meet new friends and share advice.
Postnatal yoga aims to help Mum’s reconnect with their bodies following childbirth, using yoga postures, breathing techniques and relaxation. Helping Mum to regain strength, tone and improve flexibility in a fun and safe environment. Babies are encouraged to come along to the class and can even participate if they aren’t having a wee nap!
Hatha yoga is a general term used to describe yoga. Over the years yoga has evolved and there are now many types; Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini and so on. Some are fast paced, some are slow. Some concentrate on breath and meditation, some chanting and relaxation.
My classes are a mixture of asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation and relaxation. The class is suitable for all levels. Beginners are most welcome!
